Ross Duffer, co-creator of the show together with his brother Matt, gave a very rare insight at an event held in Los Angeles. He said, while reflecting on the immense effort behind the scenes: “We filmed over 650 hours of raw footage. This is by far our biggest and most ambitious season. It’s like making eight blockbusters in one.”
The End of a Series, But Not of a Universe
Nevertheless, Stranger Things will not have only a final season and will be far from being over. As Matt Duffer declared: “We still have so many stories to tell. We can’t reveal anything just yet, but one thing is certain—every new project must be exceptional.”
In other words, the journey does not end. Stranger Things, in fact, has already started to branch out beyond the series. Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a stage play in London, explores the characters’ pasts and may even hold clues about what’s to come. And yes, there will be more. But in what form? Spin-offs? Movies? Books? Only the Duffer brothers know the answer.
